Sicilian Pine Cone Lamp

Yellow artistic ceramic pine cone table lamp made entirely by hand by master craftsmen from Caltagirone. The pine cone base is enriched by a beautiful decoration on its base that harks back to the Sicilian Baroque, a decisive and elegant decoration. To complete the lamp a white lampshade with an elegant cream-colored trimmings and electrical system with standard material.

Sicilian pine cones are widespread in our island. There is no area where they are not used to wish luck to newlyweds, to express authority and spirituality by placing them on the doorposts of villas and gardens.

Sicilian pine cones are the symbol of a tradition that has been handed down to the present day, for which they boast a pride of Sicilian art. The use of pine cones in Sicily is lost in the mists of time and is distinguished from any other type of decorative pine cone by the method with which they are made!

Each pine cone is made on the lathe, by hand. The soul, which forms the main body of the pine cone, and the pine nuts are formed on the lathe. After an initial quick drying, the kernels are applied to the sphere of the pine cone. This work is done by hand, one kernel at a time. After forming a small roll of clay, the craftsman uses only two fingers and applies the kernel in one movement. Thanks to the use of the fingertips with a typical shape that perfectly imitate the kernels of the real pine cone.
