The Matrangela (or ''Pupa cu l'Ali'') is the angel mother of the house and synthesizes the characteristics of the maternal feminine principle widely diffused in all cultures.
In the pagan world her myth is linked to the succession of the seasons and the rites of the earth. In the Christian tradition she is a mother in the full sense of the human and, at the same time, a participant in the divine. She has a central place in the house that she protects, blesses and defends. She puts everyday problems into perspective and is a consoling witness to the small pains and great fears of life. The Matrangela is covered in pure white enamel to enhance the purity and simplicity of her features.
