Ceramic Centerpiece

Pinecone centerpiece made entirely by hand on the lathe in fine Sicilian ceramic, It can be used as a fruit bowl or empty pockets. Sicilian pine cones are widespread on our island and are the symbol of a tradition that has been handed down to the present day. The use of pine cones in Sicily is lost in the mists of time and is distinguished from any other type of decorative pine cone by the method with which they are made!

The centerpiece cup is made on the lathe, by hand. After an initial quick drying, the pine cone seeds are applied. This work is done by hand, one seed at a time. After forming a small roll of clay, the craftsman uses only two fingers and applies the seed with a single movement. Thanks to the use of the fingertips with a typical shape that imitate, with perfection, the seeds of the real pine cone.
